World Mental Health Day 2020: MLP Partnering with Jewel’s Wellness Experience, Other Free Events & Resources

Happy (almost) World Mental Health Day!! Saturday October 10this World Mental Health Day and we are excited to bring awareness and celebrate our mental wellness with you! Tomorrow is a day that will fill our bodies and minds with heartfulness as communities across the globe come together to continue to bring attention to a subject that is so necessary, especially during these times. Many people still feel there is a stigma around mental health and often suffer in silence, not knowing where or how to access resources to get support. Below we wanted to highlight some virtual events and resources accessible to everyone!

A weekend full of fun, free events are not the only thing that has us excited for Saturday. We also have some pretty big news to announce! Thanks to Grammy nominated artist Jewel and retailer Kroger , Mindful Life Project will join dozens of other prominent mindfulness & wellness organizations across the country to star in Jewel’s Wellness Experience, a free virtual summit & concert for World Mental Health Day!

Jewel’s Wellness Experience

It is a day-long event to provide tools for improving the physical, emotional & mental health of those viewing. There will be talks from Mental Health experts Dr. Blaise Aguirre of Harvard’s McLean Hospital, & Dr. Judson Brewer of Brown University. Also in attendance will be actresses Hilary Swank & Beth Behrs, former NFL running back Ricky Williams and many more! A strong cast full of very insightful & inspiring individuals which we couldn’t be any more excited to be a part of. And the best part about the entire event is that it’s free to the public!

Care 2 Share’s Virtual Mental Health Day Celebration

Vancouver based Organization “Care2Share” will host an event most would say is “Millennial friendly” as they’ll be hosting their virtual World mental health day celebration via Instagram Live & Zoom. The day is filled with speeches from several keynote speakers, some movements & meditations, music & poetry, giveaways and even some shoutouts! The event begins this Saturday at 11 am PST.

StayFit305’s World Mental Health Day Meditation

For those looking to get their mind & body active this weekend, check out StayFit305′s Virtual Mediation hosted by Devon “The Black Airbender” . The Start time is 7 am PST, so for those on the West Coast your day will begin with some early mindful movement! Grab a cup of coffee and your yoga mat or meditation cushion, as it is essential for this event!

With the cost of mental health resources historically having been a deterrent for many individuals to seek care, it is encouraging to see the countless number of free and easily accessible events that are taking place this weekend!
